Sore Feet

Oh man. I am so tired. And my feet hurt. And I have a blister on the side of my big toe. I think we did everything possible today. In the morning we stopped at a little French Brasserie (cafe) and had breakfast. We took the Tube to Victoria
Station and walked to Buckingham Palace. On the way there, I dragged Shamus into an outdoors shop and we found him a hat to wear in Africa. Then we watching the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. It was interesting to see the pageantry involved, but it still seems pretty boring. They marched in with the band, other people marched in, the horses came, and it was all over. It was pretty busy there.

Then we walked along the Mall to Trafalgar Square.
Next was Trafalgar Square, where we admired the preparations for Chinese New Year.

From here we caught the Big Bus Tour again. There was a museum that I wanted to see, The Old Operating Room musuem... it was interesting to ME because they have a collection of old surgical instruments and a theater where they used to do amputations and stuff. Shamus didn't appreciate it as much. We got back on the bus and got off at the Tower of London! That was a lot of fun, we took a Beefeaters/Yeoman's tour. There guys are very entertaining. I also saw the Crown Jewels, including the BIGGEST diamond in the world, a 513 carat diamond that was STUNNING. It made my little thing seem tiny in comparison. I am sorry if the pic of the Yeoman is on his side, nothing I do can get them to flip and this is the best pic of him.

From the Tower of London, we hopped on the tube to try to catch the last Big Bus tour of the day to take the route over again one last time. It was dark and very cold up on the top of the bus.

On the way, I saw Lush and I was sad that Shamus would not let me off the bus to take a look.

And we saw the London Eye all lit up at sunset. That was our next destination.

We rode it in the dark and got a good view of the London skyline.

Okay, so, seeing as it's almost 1am here and Shamus keeps telling me it's time to get off the computer, I had better go. I will check in in the morning and then, off we go to the Airport!! South Africa, here we come. I am a little nervous for the flight, it'll be 11 hours of Shamus' twitches and mumblings. I think I will need to err... sedate him for this leg of the journey. It's for his own good. He wants to get there in one piece.
