Today Shamus and I got up early, went for breakfast (which I had a little trouble chewing) and went off in search of medical help for me. Our hosts here at the B&B suggested a private clinic nearby that has a dentist on staff, but it was closed. I went to Greenacres Hospital next, and they suggested a type of walk in clinic called PEGP. I saw a doctor there quicker than I would have back home, and although I had to pay out of pocket (and we will submit the expense when we get home) for R350 ($55 Canadian), I walked out of there with my painkillers and antibiotics, and a diagnosis of an abscessed tooth. Then Shamus and I went to the beach! We went swimming in the Indian Ocean (which was NOT warm, but it wasn't too bad) and lazied on the beach for a little while. Then we perused the flea market, and I got myself a cool African print apron. We had hot dogs for lunch, which were okay. Then we went to Bayworld, the aquarium here in Port Elizabeth. We saw the dolphins perform, and saw some really cute penguins as well. From there we went for a drive along the coast, and stopped at a supermarket for provisions.
Tonight, we are going out for dinner.
